OhSNA President: Gursimran Kaur
Hi! My name is Gursimran Kaur, and I am honored to be your 2024/25 OhSNA President! I will be graduating this year and will be a NICU Nurse! I love to travel, read, and spend as much time as I can with family and friends. I hope to continue my education and work up to earning my DNP! I hope to continue advocating for better care, for our nursing students, and nurses!

OhSNA Vice President: Andrew Phillips
Hey! My name is Andrew Phillips and I am the current VP for OhSNA. I am also involved at my school’s SNA chapter at Capital as the VP. Currently I work at OhioHealth in the Neurological ICU and hope to transition there as an RN when I graduate in May! I am an avid reader and Mystery/Thriller is my favorite genre. I can not wait to get more involved with this community and grow as a human to help better others as well as my holistic practice later in life!

OhSNA Secretary: Gracie Conley
Hello! My name is Gracie Conley and I am currently the Secretary for OhSNA. I am a senior at Capital University and after graduation, I will be working at Mount Carmel East as a labor and delivery nurse. I am excited to get more people involved in OhSNA and increase our impact on student nurses throughout Ohio! When I am not in the classroom I enjoy shopping, watching movies and spending time with my family.

OhSNA Treasurer: Ashley Mickey
Hello! My name is Ashley Mickey and I am currently serving as the treasurer of the OhSNA for the 2024/25 year. I am a senior at Ohio State, and after graduation I hope to work in critical care at a hospital in the Columbus area. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with friends, and exploring new places in Columbus. I am excited to be a part of the OhSNA Board of Directors and to help this organization grow this year!

OhSNA Health Policy & Advocacy Director: Victoria Hahn
Hello! My name is Victoria Hahn, and I am a senior at the University of Mount Union! I am from Cranberry Twp, PA, and I hope to live there post graduation! I am a Canton Regional Area Health Education Center Scholar, and act as a Student Coordinator for this organization. I also was the Vice President of the Student Nursing Association at Mount Union! I hope with this position to promote policy and government education within the nursing student population.

Hi, my name is Sauda, and I am from Cleveland, Ohio. I am a Sophomore in the nursing program at Ursuline College. Currently, I serve as the Public Relations Director for OhSNA and Ursuline’s Black Student Union. I am also a member of the Student Nurses of Ursuline College.

OhSNA Membership Director: Ja'Nya Buchanan
Hello! My name is Ja’Nya Buchanan, I’m from Cleveland, Ohio and I am a sophomore at Ursuline College. I currently work at Cleveland Clinic as a PCNA on the cardio med/surg unit. In my free time, I love to read and watch true crime documentaries. I am a part of my school’s SNA, Student Nurses of Ursuline College, and I am very excited to be a part of OhSNA as the Membership Director.

OhSNA Breakthrough to Nursing Director: Nia Gribbons
Hi! My name is Nia Gribbons and I am the current Breakthrough to Nursing Director for OhSNA. I am a current senior at the University of Mount Union where I am involved in my local SNA as the Chapter President, Alpha Xi Delta, and a student ambassador. After college, I plan to head back to my hometown of Geneva, Ohio where I want to work on a Med Surg floor or in the Emergency Room. I am so excited to represent Mount Union and help grow the Student Nurses’ Association.

Hi, I’m Anna Scaria! I’m a nursing student at The Ohio State University, where I’m also minoring in Epidemiology and Pharmaceutical Science. I’m passionate about healthcare, research, and community service. Currently, I work as a Patient Care Nursing Assistant at the Cleveland Clinic and assist with research projects on both biomedical and social-behavioral topics. Outside of school and work, I love playing tennis, running, crocheting, baking, and traveling whenever I get the chance. I’m always excited to meet new people, learn new things, and find ways to make a positive impact!

OhSNA Nominations & Elections Director: Jetta Fitch
Hi, my name is Jetta Fitch, and I am from East Liverpool, Ohio. I am a Senior in the nursing program at Kent State University. Currently, I serve as the Nominations and Elections Director for OhSNA along with being the Secretary of Kent State University’s Student Nurses Association. Once I graduate with my bachelors degree in August, I hope to work in wound care or oncology. I am very passionate about the healthcare field and that makes me want to make a difference in my patient’s lives. I am excited to represent Kent State University on the OhSNA Board. My hobbies include traveling, reading, spin classes, and hanging out with my two dogs.

OhSNA Population & Global Health Director: Meera Rana
Hi! My name is Meera Rana and I am from Westerville, Ohio. I am a sophomore at Capital University! I am a part of Student Government at Capital University and I am a member of my school’s SNA chapter, and am also in Leadership U’s Honors Society! Fun fact about me, my favorite song is Coffee by a!ka, I have a Mini Australian Shepherd, and I am biracial Indian and White! In the future I hope to work as an OB/peds nurse and eventually get my masters. This year I hope to get the community more involved in OhSNA and I’m looking forward to meeting new people and gaining new experiences!

OhSNA State Consultant: Kathy Fernandez
Dr. Fernandez is the ANA-OH State Consultant and has worked with the BOD’s since 2015. During this time, the BODs’ has excelled in growing on a state and national level and continues to win awards. Dr. Fernandez is dedicated to student mentoring, success and leadership. She was the 2021 Weingarten Leader of Leaders Award from the NSNA, and has received an OLN excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Fernandez is a published author and an invited speaker at national and international Nursing conferences. She leads two study abroad trips a year to Mexico to explore Hispanic health culture. Dr. Fernandez is a tenured Professor at Capital University and is the Winter’s Endowed Professor of Nursing.

Advisor: Taylor Mullin
Taylor Mullin is the advisor to OhSNA and has worked with the BOD’s since 2016. During this time, the BODs’ has excelled in growing on a state and national level and continues to win awards. Taylor is dedicated to student mentoring, success and leadership. She was the 2021 Expert in Nursing Award Winner and recent recipient of the DAISY award. Taylor is a published author, a PhD Candidate at The Ohio State University researching cancer prevention, and a PMHNP student. Taylor is a professor in The Ohio State University College of Nursing and also still works as a bedside nurse in her free time as a surgical oncology nurse.

Hi everyone! My name is Kelsey, and I am one of the 2024-2025 Student Advisors for OhSNA. I had previously served as the Public Relations Director from 2022-2024 and loved every minute of working with the board! In May, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a minor in Pharmaceutical Sciences, and a Primary Care Academic Certificate. I currently work as a Progressive Care Nurse in the Ross Heart Hospital at Ohio State. I am also a student in the BSN-to-DNP Program on the Family Nurse Practitioner track at OSU. I am looking forward to a great year with everyone!
